The Colonials take a new look at an old favorite of the chamber music repertoire: Franz Schubert's famous Piano Quintet in A Major, D. 667 ("The Trout"). Six composers have been commissioned to write new variations on the fourth and most famous movement. This full performance of "The Trout" quintet will include premieres of new variations by celebrated composers Brad Balliett, Lembit Beecher, Jonathan Dawe, Paul Epstein, Molly Joyce, and Gity Razaz. Joining us are special guests Elizabeth Derham on violin, and baritone Michael Weyandt. The show will take place at Spectrum, an intimate hotspot for musical innovation and creativity on the Lower East Side.
Tickets $15 / $10 (students) at door.
